Here we are again. This time we are not leaving Sweden, only Stockholm, tomorrow morning. We spend thre nights up in thr country, one night on the way to Norway and then we are in Stockholm Oslo. Since our last letter we have left Denmark, which we feel is superior to Sweden. Much friendlier people, lovely scenery and a very pleasant way of life.
We went over on the boat from Fredrickstad to Goteburg which was s three hour and a half trip. Mobs of people. We had a good dinner and a great conversation half in French and half in English with a couple from Brussels. The Park Avenue Hotle, where we stayed was the last word in modern convenience. We had a guide in the morning who showed us all the high spots and in the afternoon went to a very good museum and then took a very interesting boat trip, the postals of sane which you all must have received. It was fun to see all the ships in dry-dock and being built. A very busy place, Goteburg. We ttried to make some kind of tri on the Gote Canal and have the car met us but that was impossible as the boat goes so sl9wly. It would have been fun but we do not have that much time.
The day we left Goteburg we went up to an old town, Waldestena and saw a wonderful old castle and old church. Severla more sights on the way and stopped for the night. More sightseeing the next day on the way to Stockholm and then we arrived. We were quite tired but just as we had gotten into our rooms, Col. Gyllenkrok called. He had been waiting all day and just couldn't wait to see Mrs. Behrend. Over he came, and we had supper. Sunday we had a terrific smorgasbrod.
