The Wanderer If the fine needle-point of sense That trembles at the touch of beauty, were Slave to the subtler influence Of the steeled will, as some fond wise aver, For you that point should vibrate all day long 5 And the fine trembling issue into song. But now how idly wavering to and fro Through the East and West and South it seeks the North And, whithersoever those wandering circles go, Comes but a soft, confused muttering forth, 5 Not the clean praises of that beauty whence Falls the wild light across my world of sense. -Robin Flower.
